Program Overview
Developed by Tianhua in 2010, the adhesive oxygen absorber bonds directly to the inner surface of the sealing film with a food-grade pressure-sensitive adhesive. When the consumer opens the package the absorber stays attached to the film — invisible and non-intrusive — while eliminating sachet-insertion equipment from the production line.
Challenge & Protection Requirements
Braised duck heads and similar high-oil braised products spoil within 5–10 days at ambient temperature without oxygen control. The client additionally required that no loose sachet be visible inside the package after opening, with minimal modification to their existing high-speed production line.
Solution
The adhesive absorber met both requirements: full oxygen absorption performance — O2 ≤ 0.01% within about 72 hours — in a completely consumer-invisible format. The innovation has since been adopted across multiple industries.
