Program Overview

Hengrui Medicine, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, and Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical all produce multi-chamber bags containing amino acid-based clinical nutrition solutions. Despite being separate companies, they share a common product type and identical protection requirements — making this a unified MedShield® solution case.

Challenge & Protection Requirements

Amino acids are highly susceptible to oxidative degradation: even trace oxygen triggers Maillard reactions, discoloration, and loss of therapeutic potency. The multi-chamber design keeps components separated until point of use, so each chamber must maintain its anaerobic state independently for an 18–24 month shelf life, in full compliance with Chinese NMPA and international pharmaceutical standards.

Solution

The MedShield® absorber pairs with the reversible Type P tablet oxygen indicator (purple ↔ pink), letting quality control teams monitor the anaerobic state in real time throughout storage and distribution: purple means safe (anaerobic), pink means alert (aerobic).
